When the first MCO took place in March 2020, YSD had collaborated with Sime Darby Rent-A-Car (SDRAC) to support MERCY Malaysia with 7 units of vehicles to mobilise volunteers, food packs, hygiene kits, and PPEs for the communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the support had assisted MERCY Malaysia to run 159 relief missions across Peninsular Malaysia.

In view of the worsening situation, YSD extends funding for 5 units of vehicles to support MERCY Malaysia. The funding worth RM56,250 in total will allow MERCY Malaysia to continue its mission with 4 units in the peninsular and 1 unit in Sabah until the end of December 2020.

Today, YSD and SDRAC handed over the 5 cars to MERCY Malaysia, including 1 unit for the volunteers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This brings the total to 8 units of vehicles provided to MERCY Malaysia from March until December 2020.
