Distinguished leaders from Sime Darby Motors including Andrew Basham, the Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, Raymond Lee, the Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors in Greater China, along with the passionate BMW importer team namely BMW Concessionaires (HK) Limited and the accomplished management team of BMW's regional office in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan were present during the visit. Together, they engaged in a substantive discussion with Mr. Green to endorse a concrete plan that would further advance the electrification of BMW and MINI brands in the Hong Kong and Macau markets.

In 2023, the electrification drive in these two markets reached impressive heights, with a staggering 94% of BMW's sales volume comprised of battery electric cars. This is a remarkable achievement that makes a significant contribution towards fostering a future that is focused on sustainable mobility. Moreover, in the same year, BMW emerged as the preeminent European brand in the market, spearheading substantial growth in the premium passenger car segment.

Looking ahead to 2024, the visionary team has set ambitious goals to further solidify BMW's position as a leading electric vehicle brand and transform MINI into an electrifying force with the introduction of next-generation battery electric vehicle products.

In close collaboration with BMW, Sime Darby has consistently invested in delivering an extraordinary customer experience and comprehensive e-mobility solutions in Hong Kong. This commitment is exemplified by recent enhancements such as the upgraded BMW Tsuen Wan showroom, the BMW iSpace in Wanchai and the new BMW Experience Centre at K11 MUSEA, Tsim Sha Tsui.

In addition, the introduction of a new digital retail experience, featuring an intuitive e-store and live chat functionality serves to provide enhanced transparency and convenience. This allows customers to shop with ease and efficiency. Furthermore, to cater to the growing needs of BMW owners and electric vehicle enthusiasts, Sime Darby and BMW provide over 200 public charging bays in Hong Kong and Macau, ensuring convenience and peace of mind for all.
