Sime Darby Motors Premieres Expansive Four-Storey Ubi Flagship Building in Singapore

SINGAPORE, 7 DECEMBER 2023 – Under legacy brand Sime Darby Berhad, Sime Darby Motors (SDM) elevates its presence in Singapore by launching its new state-of-the-art flagship building in Ubi. This latest milestone marks another significant achievement for the Motors Division and reaffirms its longstanding leadership within the region’s automotive industry.
The impressive four-storey building ushers in a new era of the customer journey supported by innovation and digitalisation to further enhance pre-owned car purchases and address customers’ unique needs and wants through its extensive selection of cars. In providing a seamless and trustworthy customer experience, SDM’s certified sales and aftersales teams ensure that customers receive expert guidance during their purchasing and ownership journeys.

The SDM experience
The flagship building caters to various aspects of the SDM experience, providing a comprehensive and convenient space for customers to explore and make informed decisions. On the first floor, customers can find Sime Darby Auto Selection (SDAS) and Performance Premium Selection Limited’s (PPSL) showrooms with their dedicated lounge areas and BMW Motorrad’s display of bikes.
As part of SDM’s digitalisation strategy, customers can expect a seamless omnichannel journey that delivers easy online purchasing, loan application, selection of preferred delivery date and more by 2024.
Aside from the retail aspect of the building, a centralised quotation team is also on standby for those interested in selling their cars. These experienced purchasers are equipped with innovative valuation processes and technology to help sellers receive instantaneous and fair market quotes for their vehicles in just one visit.
Certified vehicles for peace of mind
PPSL is a subsidiary of SDM and the sole authorised Certified Pre-owned BMW dealership under the BMW Premium Selection (BPS) programme, carrying the most comprehensive range of Certified pre-owned BMWs and pre-owned BMWs. To be certified under the BPS programme, pre-owned BMW cars must undergo rigorous 360-degree inspections and be tagged with a 12-month warranty by BMW to ensure peace of mind for every customer. Each vehicle is comprehensively examined for its quality and is only put on sale should it meet the criteria of being below five years of age and having mileage under 120,000 kilometres.
SDAS, formerly PPSL Select, dedicates itself to providing accessible and affordable non-BMW pre-owned cars with the highest quality standards. Every vehicle at SDAS undergoes a rigorous pre-sale inspection to meet stringent criteria for safety and quality. SDAS also offers instant on-site trade-in valuations and direct selling supported by SDM’s workshops on the third level of their new flagship building.
More than just cars
Flagship BMW Motorrad Showroom - Beyond offering a wide range of cars, Ubi will also serve as the exclusive home for BMW Motorrad, the distinguished motorcycle brand and division of BMW. The purpose-built showroom is designed to showcase up to 18 BMW Motorrad bikes in a captivating display area, featuring a dedicated heritage showcase section, aftersales service receptions, and a parts counter complete with an accessories display. Envisioned as the pulsating heart of the BMW Motorrad community in Singapore, the showroom is a dynamic hub where motorcycle enthusiasts can gather to shop, socialise, and share their passion.
Comprehensive services
The flagship building offers additional services such as vehicle leasing and specialised BMW servicing, aftersales, and repairs for all cars. These services are fulfilled by the following providers: Sime Darby Services (SDS), PML Service, and Quick Lane Service.
Sime Darby Services (SDS) - A subsidiary of SDM in Singapore, SDS is a renowned car rental and leasing expert with over four decades of experience, offering trusted brands such as Hertz, Thrifty, and, most recently, FASST. As the Official Licensee of Hertz Singapore and the provider of flexible car subscription services through FASST, SDS has strategically extended its presence to Ubi, providing customers an additional convenient location for picking up their vehicles. This newly established office includes a customer service counter that caters to retail customers for short-term rentals from Hertz, Thrifty, FASST and BMW Access and hourly/daily rentals for Sime Darby servicing and repair customers.
Customers interested in leasing a vehicle with SDS may select a customisable leasing package tailored to their needs for new cars, extensive leasing or retail fleet.
PML Service - Implementing a hub and spoke concept at the flagship building, PML Service is BMW’s specialised servicing provider. Fast Lane services and CitNOW personalised video presentation will be offered to further enhance overall customer experience thus delivering greater value and transparency to customers. Equipped with certified BMW technicians, this new PML Service location adds greater convenience to customers residing in Northeast Singapore – where more than 20% of BMW owners reside.
Quick Lane Service - As Singapore’s only multi-brand service centre that provides comprehensive aftersales services and repairs, Quick Lane’s presence in the flagship building expands its presence in the East. Their services include supporting pre-owned car refurbishments, leasing fleet aftersales requirements, and serving their growing customer base of internal combustion engine (ICE) and fleet vehicles.
