The Ford Ranger Raptor further reinforced its title of ‘King of Pickup Trucks’ after it was crowned ‘Best Pickup Truck’ at the 2019 CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards last night at Hotel Istana, Kuala Lumpur. As the first and only performance pickup truck in Malaysia, the Ford Ranger Raptor has set a new benchmark in off-road speed and capability.

The Ranger Raptor’s bold and tough exterior boasts the Ford Performance DNA with its iconic F-O-R-D block-letter grille, and its imposing stance of 283mm of ground clearance and 150mm wider front and rear track shows that this is a serious off-road performance truck. The Raptor’s aggressive look is backed up by its 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine that delivers a maximum of 213PS of power and 500Nm of torque. It is also fitted with a huge 2.3mm bash plate and FOX Racing Shox absorbers to allow it to travel at speeds which would normally shake a car and driver to pieces.

The ‘Best Pick-up Truck’ Award at the 2019 CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards is the latest in a string of significant accolades the Ford Ranger has received in Malaysia, including most recent ‘2019 Malaysia Pick-Up Truck of the Year’ at Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards, ‘Best Pickup Trucks of Malaysia’ 2019 at the Cars of Malaysia Awards, ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the 2019 DSF.my Allianz Vehicle of the Year Awards (VOTY), ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the 2018 Malaysia Car of the Year (COTY) awards, Gold for ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the Carlist.my People’s Choice Awards & Editors’ Choice Award 2018, and TopGear Chinese Editor’s Choice Pick-up Truck of the Year Awards 2018.
