E-Auto Delivers First Batch of BYDs e6 Units to Singapore Electric Vehicles Pte. Ltd.
Singapore, April 2022 – E-Auto, a division of Vantage Automotive, which is a subsidiary of Sime Darby Motors, has delivered the first of 500 BYD e6 units to Singapore Electric Vehicles Pte. Ltd. (SEV). The deliveries, which took place on 1 April 2022, are part of a tripartite agreement between the three companies.
SEV, the first commercial electric fleet company in Singapore, aims to revolutionize public mobility by introducing zero emissions and environmentally-friendly vehicles. This partnership between the three companies will make driving an electric car more accessible for private hire drivers in Singapore and works toward the nation’s goal of a zero-emissions future.
During the delivery ceremony, Mr Steven Kwek, General Manager of SEV said, “This collaboration with E-Auto and BYD Singapore is truly a gamechanger. We will be able to provide our drivers with a fleet of efficient and trusted BYD electric cars and offer a first-hand experience of clean mobility solutions for a greener planet.”
E-Auto is the official automotive dealer of BYD vehicles in Singapore. It announced its collaboration with BYD to retail electric passenger cars in July 2019 and has seen steady growth in the interest for BYD electric cars over the years, especially in 2021.
“We are delighted to begin this collaboration with SEV with the support from BYD Singapore. We’ve seen more and more interest in BYD cars over the last 6 months and this collaboration further reinforces the upward trajectory BYD is heading to in Singapore ,” said Mr Anthony Teo, Managing Director of Vantage Automotive Limited.
The BYD e6, which boasts 522KM of single-charge battery range, 580 litres of boot space, with a charging time of just 40 minutes (from 20% to 80% with a 70kW charger), is the most popular BYD passenger car model in its line-up.
The long battery range and quick charging makes the e6 an excellent electric car for private hire drivers as it would mean more time on the road and less time waiting for charging.

This agreement between E-Auto and SEV will certainly aid in bringing our efficient and safe vehicles to more drivers on the road.”
Earlier this year, E-Auto also announced the arrival of the All-New BYD ATTO 3, which is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2022. The All-New BYD ATTO 3 signals a new era of BYD passenger vehicles in Singapore with its improved power, state-of-the-art performance, and elegant design.
