100 years of Ford
What is even more remarkable is that the Ford truck  is celebrating 100 years of being an iconic pickup truck in the automotive industry when history was carved way back on 29 July, 1917!

Built Capable & Tested to The Extreme
The Ranger’s cutting-edge technologies that enable solutions to everyday challenges makes it stand apart from traditional pickup trucks. To prove this, the Ranger was pushed beyond boundaries with extreme tests in the real world to showcase its toughness in a series of videos - Science of Trucks at Ford Malaysia’s YouTube channel.

“The Ranger is able to handle everything thrown at it with its wide array of smart technologies. Today’s Ranger builds on strengths that lifelong customers have come to love, and then taking them to a whole new level,” he added.

The videos document the Ranger’s Towing Capability, Frame and Chassis strengths that were put to the test by strapping 600 kg of mass and spun at 4.75Gs of opposing forces. Adaptive Load Control, Dynamic Stability Control and Rollover Mitigation capabilities, meanwhile, were tested by dropping a load of bricks and an ATV into the back of a moving Ranger.

Smart technologies such as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Traction Control in the Ranger helps to control understeering and oversteering by correcting the driving line through a combination of brake application to the appropriate wheel and a reduction in engine torque. Adaptive Load Control, which takes into consideration the loading condition of the vehicle and ensures DSC is then applied accordingly.

On top of these features is the Rollover Mitigation system to identify a potentially dangerous driving situation and activate the Electronic Stability Program to restore stability. Hill Launch Assist and Hill Descent Control help to pull away on steep inclines and stay in control on steep downhill grades easily.
 
Built Smart
The high performance WildTrak variant features SYNC^TM 3, the latest Ford in-car connectivity system that boasts an eight-inch colour touchscreen to operate phone, entertainment and climate control using a simple voice command system. The system currently supports Android AutoTM  and Apple CarPlay.
 
Built Safe
The Ranger Wildtrak variant features Adaptive Cruise Control, an intelligent feature that uses radar sensors to detect traffic ahead, and automatically adjusts the cruise control speed to maintain a safe distance from the car in front. The Collision Warning Alert system detects the potential of a collision up ahead and it will flash a red warning signal on your windscreen and pre-charge your brakes, ready to stop quickly.
 
The Ranger’s smart and safety features have been awarded NCAP 5-star safety rating.

Built Fuel-Efficient
For maximum power and torque for heavy-duty towing, the Ranger is powered by a 3.2-liter Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine. It includes an updated exhaust gas recirculation system which helps to improve fuel efficiency by up to 18 percent, while still putting out an impressive 147 kW of power and 470 Nm of torque.
