Sime Darby Auto Connexion's Queenie Tham Named Automotive Lady Of The Year By DSF.MY
On 9 July 2020, Miss Queenie Tham from Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford was named ‘Automotive Lady of the Year’ 2020 at the Vehicle of the Year (VOTY) awards organised by DSF.my in sponsorship with Allianz Malaysia Berhad.
The VOTY annually honors a gentleman and a lady who have made meaningful contribution to the automotive industry, in addition to making a difference to the people around them – nurturing and evolving them to be better.
Queenie, who is the Head of Marketing Communications of Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford, was recognised for her conscientiousness in building, promoting and upholding the Ford brand in Malaysia despite facing challenges in the change of brand owners. Her devotion and perseverance made her a true custodian of the brand. Queenie embarked on her motoring career with Ford in 2007, before Sime Darby Motors took over from Ford Malaysia as the sole distributor of all Ford vehicles in Malaysia.
The VOTY awards presentation ceremony this year was streamed via Facebook Live in a nod to the continued vigilance needed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. VOTY was the first automotive awards ceremony to be streamed live in ASEAN.
