Record Sales for the BMW Group in Singapore
SINGAPORE, 8 January 2008 - In another year of growth in Singapore, the BMW Group has achieved record sales, selling more than 4,000 vehicles for the first time ever in 2007.
With 4,008 BMW and MINI vehicles sold last year, the Group has chalked up growth of 3.9% on a year on year basis. While BMW brand sales increased slightly from the historic high of 3,658 units in 2006 by 1.6 % to 3,715 units last year, the MINI brand showed a sharp increase of 47.2 % to 293 units sold in the year 2007.
Overall the BMW Group in Singapore has grown BMW and MINI brand sales by a whopping 74% over the last four years, making it the most successful premium automotive company in the market.
The impressive growth rates over the years, as well as the 3.9% increase last year was the result of various factors, said the managing director of BMW Asia, Mr. Roland Krueger.
“Our customers appreciate the sheer driving pleasure of BMW cars and the excitement of MINI. We are honored by the trust our customers have given to both BMW and MINI. At the same time, our distributors in Singapore, Performance Motors Limited for BMW and Trans Eurokars for MINI both have done an outstanding job to serve our customers.
“These successes are due to them and on behalf of BMW Asia I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks and congratulations to the team at Performance Motors Limited as well as to Trans EuroKars.”
