INOKOM Builds Prototype Car From Scrap

INOKOM Prototype One

13 July 2009 - Inokom top management has challenged its staff in October 2008 to produce a vehicle by using scrap parts from Production. To materialize the challenge, a team of manpower was established. Headed by Inokom COO, various departments from productions and manufacturing services were involved in this task. With the support of two permanent fabricators from Body Shop and 28 supporting personnel from various shops, the project kicked-off in November 2008.

Original state of Prototype One from Scrap

The model, “INOKOM Prototype One” used INOKOM Getz 1.4L as the basis of fabrication body shelves. Other parts that are used to build this unit include scraps from Matrix, Atos 1.1L, Permas Van and Renault Truck. The team also received support from HSDM warranty department in terms of rejected parts which were refurbished later in Inokom. The current Inokom vendors also contributed to the making of this unit such as Sime Kansai, Gorgeous, APM Seats, Grand Carpets, Menang and PNA.

Team involved in producing INOKOM Prototype One

The team received thumbs up from Inokom’s CEO, Syed Mudzhar for completing the project within a short period of time. Currently the team is moving towards new project and still keeps it below radar. We are anxious to see the outcome.
Kudos to all!
